Events

Author Archie D. Nettles, Jr. offers unique reading events where he will read his debut book in an interactive educational setting. Called “Toolbelt Talks,” these events are book readings that provide children with the opportunity to follow along with the story, explore hands-on building and engage with the author. The goal is to show children that trades can be fun and that hardworking hands are what keeps the lights on and the world running.

Fun & Interactive

Toolbelt Talks provide children the opportunity to immerse in the story, ask questions, learn about trades and have fun along the way.

Hands-On Activities

Activities include a playful story time followed by coloring and workbook activities. Each child receives a hard-hat, stickers and candy.

Educational

Throughout the activity, children learn about the trades industry by following along with story book characters Torque and Tori.

Speaking Topics

Archie is available to speak on other topics, including youth engagement, workforce development, and trades education curriculum development.
