Author Archie D. Nettles, Jr. is now offering reading events where he will read his debut book in an interactive classroom setting. Trades to the Rescue is part of a broader effort to inspire and empower the next generation to view the trades as a meaningful, respected, and rewarding career path. This is achieved by taking different trade industries, often considered non-traditional career paths, and making these paths more appealing to youth in an entertaining and engaging way.
Called “Toolbelt Talks,” these events are book readings that provide children with the opportunity to follow along with the story, explore hands-on building and engage with the author. The goal is to show children that trades can be fun and that hardworking hands are what keeps the lights on and the world running.
